ACOT is a partnership between Industry, RAPAD, schools and training organisations to deliver quality accredited training in Tourism and Hospitality locally in the Central West Queensland communities, building capacity in the region and retaining our population.
RAPAD – Remote Area Planning and Development Board is the regional planning and development agency and regional organisation of councils owned by and representing the seven local government of Central Western Queensland. RAPAD has a strategic focus to further the development and sustainability of the region, and consequently is heavily involved in the development of ACOT, with General Manager, David Arnold the Chair of ACOT Steering Committee.
Education Queensland Central West District has been a leading driver of the development of the Australian College of Outback Tourism. Six schools in the region cater for secondary students and currently offer the Certificate I Tourism (Australian Indigenous Culture)
Industry – Tourism industry in the Central West is diverse, catering for the many and varied interests of visitors to the region. Industry has identified the need for locally delivered, quality tourism training and has supported the development of ACOT through all stages.
